Using WAVE with Zoom
WAVE connects to your Zoom account so you can host and create Zoom meetings from WAVE, and so WAVE can index and re-broadcast your meeting media to your WAVE library. This page covers adding, using, and removing the WAVE Zoom integration.
Adding the integration
You can connect Zoom to WAVE from either side.
From WAVE
- Sign in to WAVE at zoom.wave.online/connect (or open Settings → Integrations → Zoom in the WAVE app).
- Click Connect Zoom.
- On Zoom's authorization screen, review the requested permissions and click Allow.
- You are returned to WAVE showing Zoom connected, with your Zoom name and email. WAVE can now host and create meetings on your behalf.
From the Zoom App Marketplace
- Find WAVE in the Zoom App Marketplace and click Add.
- Review the requested permissions and click Allow.
- You are redirected to WAVE to finish linking your account.
Permissions WAVE requests
- View your user information and email — to link your Zoom identity to your WAVE account.
- View your access token (start meetings) — so you can host (start) a meeting from WAVE, not just join.
- View and manage your meetings — so WAVE can create meetings for you and read their join details.
WAVE stores your Zoom tokens encrypted and never exposes them to your browser.
Using the integration
Once connected, from WAVE you can:
- Host a meeting — WAVE starts a Zoom meeting with you as host.
- Create a meeting — WAVE schedules a new Zoom meeting and returns the join link.
- Join in the WAVE embed — join a Zoom meeting inside WAVE's interface.
- Index and broadcast — where you enable it, WAVE pulls your meeting media for indexing and re-broadcasts it to your WAVE library.
WAVE only acts on meetings you explicitly host, create, or join through WAVE.
Removing the integration
You can remove WAVE's access from either side.
From WAVE
- Open Settings → Integrations → Zoom (or visit zoom.wave.online/connect).
- Click Disconnect Zoom. WAVE deletes your stored Zoom tokens immediately.
From Zoom
- Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace and go to Manage → Added Apps.
- Find WAVE and click Remove, then confirm.
- Zoom revokes WAVE's access and WAVE deletes any stored tokens on the next request.
Removing the app stops all WAVE access to your Zoom account. Media WAVE already indexed to your library remains yours; you can delete it separately in WAVE.
